Medical botox

Vaccination

The three most common medical Botox treatments we perform at the clinic are:

  • The jaw muscle (Masseter) as overactivity of the muscle causes headaches and pain in the jaw. Also called bruxism.

  • Hyperhidros (Sweat Treatment) perfect for those who sweat a lot and want to minimize this.

  • Trapezius muscle (also known as Traptox/Barbietox) this treatment is good for those who want to reduce muscle tension and pain in the neck and shoulders.

About the treatment

Medical Botox, is a therapeutic treatment used to treat a variety of medical conditions by temporarily paralyzing the muscles or nerves that cause certain symptoms. While Botox is best known for its cosmetic uses to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, it also has a number of medical uses due to its ability to relax muscles and block nerve impulses.

How does it work?

Botox works by blocking the release of chemicals called neurotransmitters that send messages from nerves to muscles. This results in temporary muscle relaxation, which can relieve or treat a variety of medical conditions. When muscles are temporarily paralyzed, they cannot contract, causing symptoms such as muscle spasms or excessive sweating and muscle activity.

Areas of application at our clinic:

Medicinsk Botox can be used to treat a wide range of medical conditions, including:

Headaches:
Botox injections can reduce the frequency and severity of chronic migraines by blocking pain signals in the nervous system. For instance, Botox injections in the jaw muscles are often highly effective in treating headaches related to teeth grinding.

We have many satisfied clients who have experienced relief from headaches after using Botox in the jaw muscles. In addition to alleviating headaches, this treatment also provides a cosmetic benefit by reducing the width of the face, resulting in a more feminine facial shape.

This treatment typically shows results within 4–6 weeks and needs to be repeated every 4–6 months for maintenance.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating):
Botox can be used to reduce excessive sweating in the underarms, palms, soles of the feet, and other areas by blocking the nerves that control the sweat glands.

The effects of this treatment may take 4–6 weeks to appear and typically require maintenance approximately 2–3 times per year.

Trapezius Muscle:
Botox can be injected into the trapezius muscle, located at the back of the neck and upper back, to reduce tension and muscle pain.

This treatment can be especially beneficial for individuals suffering from chronic tension or pain in the neck and shoulders, often caused by overactive muscles or poor posture.

Why it is used:

Medical Botox is primarily used to relieve or treat symptoms associated with various medical conditions, including overactive muscles or excessive nerve activity. It can improve the quality of life for clients suffering from these conditions by reducing pain, improving mobility, and increasing daily functioning. Botox treatments are often an effective and safe therapeutic option when other treatments have been ineffective or not tolerated. With us, you will be well informed during your botox consultation together with our dermatologist, where she will assess whether medical Botox is suitable for your specific condition and symptoms.
